Our team here at Green City Heating and Air Conditioning is standing by to help you choose the right heating solution for your home or business. We are family owned and operated and understand the importance of feeling confident that your investment is in safe hands. We’ll help you explore a few options below. If you have a quick question, don’t hesitate to reach out, we’d love to help!

Furnaces

Traditional Forced Air Solution

One of the most common heating systems, especially in Western Washington, is forced air, electric or gas furnaces. With so many new construction homes being built over the past 25 years, we find this one of the most common repairs or replacements. They are still a great option if you’re only concerned about heating your home.

One thing to consider is adding an air filtration system. During warmer months, your furnace may lay dormant for months; you’ll likely recall the smell of burning dust when you first kick it back on. This can be avoided if you utilize the fan year round, and double as a filtration system eliminating allergens and even dust. Heat Pumps

Heating & Cooling All in One Unit

Before you keep scrolling, definitely take a look at heat pumps, especially if you’d love to have air conditioning as well. A lot of people are opting to add air conditioning to their HVAC system because our summers seem to be getting hotter every year here in Western Washington. What many people don’t know is that you can have BOTH with a heat pump.

The name is deceiving. Heat pumps are an excellent investment that heat and cool. If you are looking to replace or install a furnace, you should really consider this option. Energy.gov offers great insight on the benefits of these systems, so be sure to check it out. DON’T GIVE YOUR MONEY AWAY, INVEST IT! Heat pumps are extremely energy efficient and not only will your utility bill be greatly redacted, there’s also some really great rebates to encourage this option. Instead of giving your money to the utility company, invest it in a system that will continue to save your money! We also offer amazing ZERO down / 0% interest finance options for those who qualify. It’s a quick and easy process, take a look!

Mini-Split Ductless System

Heating & Cooling All in One Unit

If it’s not feasible to replace your entire HVAC system or it’s not an option, because you don’t have a central heating and cooling system in place, then a mini-split ductless system is the perfect solution. These are particularly great for really old, 100-year-old homes, manufactured homes, and even mobile homes.

They are also very economical! They’re affordable to purchase and install, but they are also extremely energy efficient. Not unlike a heat pump, your utility bill will be greatly reduced and there’s some really great rebates to encourage this option. Instead of giving your money to the utility company, invest it in a system that will continue to save your money!

Boiler Heating & Cooling System

Heating & Cooling All in One Unit

Boilers are very common in older homes, but they are a good contender for your HVAC system today as well. They work by heating water, creating steam to create heat. Steam is distributed via pipes to steam radiators and hot water can be distributed via baseboard radiators or radiant floor systems – or can heat air via a coil. Steam boilers operate at a higher temperature than hot water boilers and are inherently less efficient; however, high-efficiency versions of all types of furnaces and boilers are currently available.

Here’s a great article from energy.gov that really breaks down the pros and cons along with a great infographic that offers a visual.
